CIS EXPRESS is a free, family-friendly, COVID-safe holiday lights tour in Midlothian off Hull Street, running from December 7th through December 20th. This is a great alternative to the typical tacky light tours, without the traffic! From the comfort and safety of your vehicle, you will drive by 10 fabulously decorated stops, using our event map, QR codes and your cell phone.
And, it’s a holiday tour with a mission! Each stop is connected to the Communities In Schools mission and shares elements of our programming in an interactive way! The kick-off stop introduces you to CIS. Here, you will learn about the schools we serve and how we support students throughout Chesterfield County. From there, you’ll drive by nine fabulously decorated homes along the route, representing each of our nine schools.
When you register, you’ll receive a confirmation. Prior to December 7, we'll send you an electronic event package, including the event “map” with QR codes for directions. You're welcome to participate at any point from Dec 7-20. At each of the stops, you will be able to tune into short video clips (using QR codes) to hear from our team of CIS Site Coordinators, students, volunteers and school staff. There will be QR codes to prompt directions to each stop of the tour.
We’ll also include a scavenger hunt for kids of all ages, the chance to win a Quarantine Basket, and fun prizes.
